Fiducial markers were distributed in the ECM gel, imaged and their positions detected: (a) uncorrected super-resolution images, (b) after drift correction and (c) after image registration (scale bars 500 nm) The target registration error was determined to 25 nm. (d) The quality of the registered images in (c) is quantified by coordinate-based colocalization (CBC) analysis. The uncorrected (magenta) and the drift-corrected (blue) super-resolution images show no colocalization, whereas the image corrected for drift and temporal offset (green) shows high colocalization.
